Smart Heart Scans Mission

Smart Heart Scans is a social media campaign focused on providing educational awareness about the coronary artery calcium (CAC) scan. This scan provides insight into the amount of calcium in one's heart arteries which can prevent possible heart disease and heart attacks. Currently, this scan is not covered by insurance, and our goal is to change that by spreading awareness!

Our History

Our journey began with a shared passion for healthcare and a mutual desire to make a positive impact in the world. As undergraduate students, we both explored different facets of the medical field, leading us to discover our specific interests. Alex, a pre-med student at Case Western Reserve University, found his calling in heart medicine during a shadowing experience with a cardiologist. Witnessing the complexities and intricacies of heart health sparked his dedication to this vital area of medicine. His goal is to become a specialist who can provide life-saving care to patients with heart conditions.

Noah's path took a different but complementary direction. While working in politics and engaging with Georgians, he encountered many individuals struggling to navigate the healthcare system. These conversations revealed a significant gap in healthcare access and understanding, igniting Noah's passion for healthcare law. He became determined to advocate for policies that would bridge these gaps and ensure that everyone has access to the medical care they need. This shared experience of discovering our passions inspired us to combine our efforts and create this platform.

Together, we aim to address both the clinical and legal aspects of healthcare, providing resources and information that empower individuals to understand and manage their health. Our website serves as a hub for information on heart health, healthcare policies, and patient rights, reflecting our commitment to making healthcare accessible and understandable for all. We believe that by sharing our knowledge and experiences, we can contribute to a more informed and healthier community.
